Christmas is Going to the Dogs

Santa does not only focus on human children during the holiday season; he also makes sure to set aside time for pets who have been nice each year. Proving this, Santa made a special stop at Active Re-Entry on Wednesday evening to visit with pets and discover what they want for Christmas this year.

Not only did pets come to visit with Santa, but families were also in attendance to take a family photo with their pets for the holidays. Santa Paws visits Active Re-Entry annually as part of a fundraiser for the organization’s PAWS program. Funds raised during the event support the program’s operations in Carbon and Emery counties.

“Active Re-Entry supports the PAWS (People & Animals Working to Serve) Program. The use of animals to facilitate positive changes in a broad spectrum of therapeutic settings is becoming more accepted, appreciated and valued,” the organization shared. “Under the direction of health services and education professionals, animal-assisted therapy can promote physical, emotional, cognitive and social improvement for people with special needs.”
