The Carbon Dinos girls’ golf team traveled to Juab on Wednesday morning to compete in a region golf match.

Juab proved to be a great turf for the Lady Dinos as they ended the match in first place with a final overall score of 371. Sam King led the team with a score of 89 with Jordan Bianco right behind at 90. Aubrey Fausett scored 93 while Rhiannon Timmons finished with 99. Rounding out the scoring for the Dinos were Kristen Etzel and Jessica Hansen with 104 and 105, respectively.

“The girls played well today. Unfortunately, golf is accumulative scoring and not win/loss,” said head coach Kenji Otani. “We still have a hole to climb out of, but I saw a spark today that I hope grows into a three-alarm blaze.”

In second place was Providence Hall with 372 while third place went to Union with 416. Juab came in fourth with 429 followed by Delta with 442.

Next, the girls will travel to Morgan for an upcoming match that is slated to take place on April 4.
