A no-hitter is something to celebrate, a perfect game? Well, it’s just that, perfect.
Perfect is what senior hurler Dakota Cisneros was yesterday in the Dino’s 11-0 non-region blowout of South Sevier. Carbon forced the mercy rule on South Sevier, playing just five innings.
Cisneros fanned 10 Rams en route to his ninth-career win.
“It was fun to watch,” said his father Jeff Cisneros, who is also anВ assistantВ coach. “I have never been part of a perfect game. I have watched several no-hitters, but a perfect game is just a very special and rare thing.”
Offense was never a problem, as the Dinos scored in each of the five innings.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing for Cisneros, though. He fell behind three different batters 3-0, but battled back each time to strike out his opponent.
“I was very proud as a coach and father to be there to witness that,” the elder Cisneros said.
Just to put Cisneros’ performance inВ perspective, only 23 perfect games have ever been thrown in Major League Baseball history.
“It’s pretty incredible to not let a single person get on base,” Carbon Head Coach Troy Moynier said.
One could even say perfect.
