Those searching for fun and exciting activities on Saturday eagerly looked to the Coal Country Christmas events that were hosted throughout the day.
Kicking off the festivities, a hot cocoa 5K began at the Peace Gardens on Price’s Main Street at 9 a.m. Those wishing to start the day with exercise were welcomed to enter for $5 each. Following the run, a bake sale was hosted at Balance Rock Eatery beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Then, the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center at USU Eastern was utilized for the remaining activities. These activities included a cornhole competition at 10 a.m. for $10 per team, bingo for $1 per card at 1 p.m. and a teen dance hosted at 8 p.m. for a $5 entrance fee.
Proceeds from these events will directly benefit the Coal Country Christmas organization. The newly-formed nonprofit organization is ran by members of the community with a goal to raise money for Carbon County families in need during the holidays.
