Local businessman Cody Bunderson was honored by the Family Council of Utah last week for his efforts in aiding youth in the Castle Country area.

Following the 2018 graduation night bust, Bunderson took it upon himself to offer a safe and positive outlet for youth. For the month of June, he offered classes for free at his gym, Fierce MMA & Fitness.

“Cody took action to help youth in his community, by providing a safe and positive outlet to help avoid the growing opioid epidemic in our eastern region,” the council shared following its meeting last week.

This work at Fierce MMA & Fitness was recognized by other local business. According to Bunderson, there have been pledges by the community to sponsor children who could not afford classes following the free month but would still like to participate. This has spurred Bunderson to reevaluate the program and seek ways to expand its offerings to local youth.

“Thank you Cody, for your time and generosity,” the council concluded. “You are an inspiring role model and asset to your community.”
