A father and son duo are on a mission to improve smiles in Castle Country. A mother is also part of the operation to ensure that everything goes right.

Dr. Colton Martinez recently joined his father, Dr. Paul Martinez, at Family Dental Center to offer quality dental services to patients in the local area.

“Growing up, I would come with my dad to the office and I just wanted to follow in his footsteps,” Colton said. “Ever since I was in junior high, I wanted to be a dentist.”

That drive fueled Colton through his education at Carbon High, where he graduated in 2008. From there, Colton made his way to Westminster College for his undergrad studies before heading to Creighton University in Nebraska to take part in the university’s prestigious dental program. He graduated from both programs with honors. Now, with a full education under his belt, Colton and his wife returned to their home town to build their careers.

“One of the main things I really like about coming back to my hometown is reuniting with my old friends from high school,” Colton said. “It’s good to be back with my family. My wife and I are very family oriented so this is the perfect match for us.”

Colton is certainly reconnecting with his family not only in his personal time, but also in his professional arena.

“When working with your parents, there is always a bit more expectation out of you, I think,” Colton said. “But it is also more reassuring because you know they are definitely going to be there if you need them.”

This support has helped guide Colton through his process of becoming established as a dentist in Price City. He is currently offering family and cosmetic dentistry, root canal therapy, extractions, dentures, crowns and bridges, and periodontal therapy. But Colton doesn’t want to stop there.

“I plan on being able to offer braces and Invisalign,” Colton said. This will come with more schooling to add to nearly a decade of work Colton has already put in.

The training also continues each day as Colton works with his father, who has garnered over 30 years of dental experience in Price. Colton has joined his father in treatment of some patients while also serving his own growing workload.
