As Emery County Commissioners consider the amount they will donate to Southeastern Utah Energy Producers Association (SEUEPA) on Tuesday, they encouraged the community to get involved, donate and to join in the 1st Western U.S. Coal Rally on Thursday, Oct. 23 from 5-8 p.m. at the Carbon Count Event Center.

The coal and fossil fuel rally is an event that aims to help educate the public and politicians about the risk of eliminating the use of fossil fuels for the production of energy. SEUEPA is comprised of a wide group of companies involved in coal and other mining, oil/gas production, power generation, energy transportation, energy support vendors, academia and government agencies. They aggressively promote economic development in an effort to create well-paying jobs in Southeastern Utah.

There will be food, entertainment, prizes, family activities and keynote speakers at the SEUEPA Coal and Fossil Fuel Rally. For more information on the rally or to donate, visit www.seuepa.org or find them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/coalrally.

A special commission meeting will be held on Oct. 20 at 9 a.m. at the Emery County Courthouse.
