Alex Vajda will be conducting a test demonstration of the Community Alert Warning System in East Carbon at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 31.

This unit is being designed to provide emergency alerts to the community in the event of an impending or actual emergency. This system is in its final prototype phase before entering final production to correct any possible issues.

The test will take place in East Carbon at 1:30 p.m. and will include an audible air raid type siren along with audio announcements. Because the siren can be heard much further than the voice communications can be understood, the entire test will be broadcast over an FM broadcast on 104.5 MHZ. Three tests will be run over a period of 15 minutes.

Some pretesting will take place on Aug. 29 by the old railroad building on the road to Range Creek to work out any last minute issues.

Any comments or suggestions can be directed to Vajda at asubav@yahoo.com.
