First Friday in Helper for this month echoed with disco music and an 80’s vibe while Helper City’s Main Street was blocked off on July 5 for various events.
To accompany the lively music, there was dancing in the street. People were invited to don their best disco outfit and parade it for the evening. Along with that, there was another contest and runway where people could strut their stuff, showing off their costumes and dance moves. The event was recorded for Helper First Fridays’ Facebook page and those who viewed the video online were able to cast a vote to name the winning dancer.
There was also a BBQ competition between Linda Thobe, Marsha’s Sammich Shop and Wicked in the Kitchen. All three competitors tied for the win.
