Community Cares to Provide Free Christmas Dinner Once Again

Community Cares is a local non-profit group that formed with locals in mind. The goal for Community Cares each holiday season is to provide a free Christmas dinner on Christmas Day.

Last year, with a combination of those that attended the dinner as well as the meals that were delivered to homes, around 250 residents were served. The organization hopes to reach as many as possible to ensure that nobody spends Christmas alone or hungry.

Once again, the meal will take place on Dec. 25 at the Jennifer Leavitt Student center on the USU Eastern campus. The meal will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature a complete traditional holiday dinner. Christmas music, entertainment and books for the children in attendance will be available as well.

Transportation is available for those that are in need at sites in Helper, Price and East Carbon. Additionally, the organization is ready and willing to deliver the full meal to those that are unable or do not wish to leave their homes.

If you are wanting to be a part of the Christmas Dinner or need any other information in regard, please contact Stephanie Cha at (435) 820-6631. Brenda Deeter may also be contacted at (435) 820-8140. Inquires may also be mailed to Community Cares Christmas Dinner, P.O. Box 255 in Price. Community Cares also has a Facebook page with information.
