Fireworks, dinner, horseshoes and a live band were just some of the things members of the community enjoyed at the Carbon County Fairgrounds as part of the Energy Days event on the Fourth of July.
The evening started with a free hot dog dinner and Cold Stone Creamery ice cream to the first 1,000 people. Soon after, horseshoe competitors geared up and children took to a playground full of bumper balls, slides, a foam pit and a mechanical bull.
The event continued with a cupcake eating contest for children as well as a pie eating contest for the adults. Other contests included tire flipping and coal shoveling. The competitions offered extra motivation with cash and prizes awarded to top finishers.
Fire at Will performed live music throughout the evening before fireworks topped off the Independence Day celebration.
The annual Energy Days celebration is sponsored by South Eastern Utah Energy Production Association (SEUEPA).
