The Community Clothing Closet hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony outside the store at 8 East Main Street, Price, to celebrate the grand opening Thursday at noon.
The organization gathers, through donations, new and gently used clothing, coats, shoes and other daily necessities, and offers them at no cost.
The concept behind the organization is to help ease financial burdens on those who have limited income.
According to a statement on the organization’s website, “Our mission is simple: to collect gently used items of day-to-day necessity and give them back, free of charge, to financially challenged individuals who need them.”
The Community Clothing Closet officially opened its doors June 7 and currently has approximately 4,000 items.
The store is open from 9-3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 9 to noon and 3-7 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Donations are accepted during business hours, and organizers are working to provide additional drop off areas for convenience.
