Community members and school children gathered at the Price City Peace Gardens Tuesday morning to pay respect to America’s veterans during a Veterans Day program.

Price American Legion Post #3 conducted the program and were accompanied by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Marine Corp League, National Guard and American Legion Auxiliary Post #3. Pinnacle Canyon Academy kindergarten students also sang a patriotic song for all in attendance.

Price City Mayor Joe Piccolo spoke to the crowd as well and encouraged everyone to support veterans for their service 365 days a year, not just on Veterans Day. “I go out of my way to shake the hand of any soldier or veteran I see,” mayor Piccolo stated. “I encourage everyone else to do the same.”

Several local businesses are also doing their part to salute veterans. Nicki Spaghetti will serve the first 100 veterans  a free meal between 4 and 9 p.m. According to their Facebook page, Wingers will also serve a free meal to all veterans while Ricardo’s will provide a 20% discount on Tuesday for veterans.
