Members of the community gathered on Thursday to support Hailey Evans and her family at a fundraiser hosted at USU Eastern. Evans, a former USU Eastern student and cheerleader, was involved in an automobile accident that left her hospitalized for weeks on end. While she is home and recovering now, the community wanted to come together to assist the family with the seemingly endless hospital and recovery bills that have mounted.

Those in attendance at the fundraiser enjoyed a spaghetti dinner as well as a bake sale, a silent auction and a chance to purchase from local businesses. Entertainment was also provided at the event, including multiple performances from Linda Johnstun’s School of Dance.

A portion of the sales from local businesses were donated to the Evans family along with funds raised from the other activities at the fundraiser.

Hailey’s sister, Riley, took a chance to thank the community for its support at the fundraiser and throughout the family’s entire journey as Hailey recovers. Hailey’s mother Darlene also expressed her gratitude on social media.

“I am so humbled tonight by the amazing family, friends and people, some I’ve never met, going above and beyond tonight in support of my Hailey and family,” Darlene commented. “I am so grateful to all who helped and count my blessings with gratitude that we live in such a loving, thoughtful community.”
