USU Eastern hosted the 33rd annual Sterling Scholar Award Program Tuesday evening, with over fifty Sterling Scholar nominees hoping to take home the award in their category.
High School Seniors from Monument Valley, Emery, Carbon, Grand, Monticello, San Juan and Whitehorse, were nominated as a Sterling Scholar hopeful in either English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Foreign Language, Business and Marketing, Speech and Drama, Music, Visual Arts, Family & Consumer Science, Trade and Technical Education, and the General Scholarship.
Carbon High School stole the show, winning six of the 12 disciplines represented in the program. Emery had three students win.
