Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz visited Carbon and Emery counties on Tuesday for visits with local elected officials and high school students. Chaffetz also stopped by the ETV Channel 10 studios to record an episode of “Heart of Utah” with Randy Johnson.
Chaffetz, who represents Utah’s 3rd Congressional District that includes Carbon, Emery, Grand and San Juan counties, spoke about many topics with Johnson. Topics ranged from the difference in Congress now that Republicans have the majority, Chaffetz’s quest tackling the NFL’s tax-exempt status, ISIS, the nation’s current prison system and the ongoing public lands initiative Chaffetz is sponsoring with fellow Utah Congressman Rob Bishop.
The “Heart of Utah” episode with Chaffetz will run on ETV Channel 10 for the next two weeks beginning Monday at 11:30 a.m., 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
