Students from Cottonwood Elementary received a visit from the Daughters of Utah Pioneers on Monday to learn a little about life during the time of the Pioneers. The DUP taught students various skills such as how to braid rugs, how to turn cream into butter and how to wash and dye clothing. Students also had the chance to fashion prairie “diamond” rings from horseshoe nails. The DUP also taught about rocks that can be found throughout Utah.
