Residents of Emery Town notified wildlife services of a roaming cougar on Tuesday, Sept 3. The cougar had been sighted several times in Emery previously.
Citizens of Emery reported having lost sheep, goats, turkeys, geese and chickens before the cat was put down. The cat was eventually found in shed at about 150 West and 300 South but had been sighted roaming most of the areas in the town.
This was the second cougar that had been caught in Emery this summer. Both cats were only yearlings so it is hoped that an older cougar is not still in the area.
