In 2020, it was announced that Jensen’s Country Lanes, located on Carbonville Road, was getting a revamp from new owners and would be opening its doors better than ever.

In 2022, a ribbon cutting ceremony was hosted by the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce (CCCC) to commemorate the bowling alley and pizzeria adding fun and excitement to the community. Jessica and Dennis Pawelek had purchased the bowling alley and had quickly began putting their nose to the grindstone.

The lengthy remodel included the building being repainted from the inside out, new roofing and an entire kitchen for the KingPin Pizzeria. The Paweleks had also brought in over a dozen new video games and the chance to win tickets to redeem for prizes.

Officially, Country Lanes opened its new-and-improved doors on April 4 of 2022. Over the weekend of June 28 of this year, the sad announcement was made that the doors would be closing on the bowling alley. This came following the hard-fought effort to continue to provide the bowling alley to the community for more than two years.

“Unfortunately we have closed the doors,” the bowling alley’s Facebook page shared. “Thanks to those that supported us the past few years!”

The community responded to the announcement with great disappointment, with many voicing they had visited recently, were going to plan upcoming events, or were sad to miss out on bowling leagues.
