Local golfers took part in the COVID Cup, hosted by the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce, on Saturday at the Carbon Country Club Golf Course.
With teams teeing off at various times throughout the day, social distancing was enacted during the four-man scramble tournament. For the competition, 24 teams took to the course for 18 holes with the hope of being named the top team.
AutoFarm/Blue Diamond, USU Eastern, Willco Supply, the Tony Basso Group, Castleview Hospital and the Southeastern Utah Association of Local Goverments each competed with two teams. Other teams included Cache Valley Bank, Marketing Elevated, Jones & DeMille Engineering, Eastern Utah Community Credit Union, Rusty Fork, Emery Telcom, FST Filtration, General Distributors, Market Express, Peczuh Printing, Washington Federal and Ward Landscapes.
At the end of the day, the FST Filtration team took first-place honors with a 56 round. The Marketing Elevated team was close behind with 57 followed by the Peczuh Printing team with 58. The Tony Basso #1 team also walked away with a trophy for a last-place finish.
The funds raised during the tournament will directly benefit the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce and its mission to serve local businesses.
