The Emery County Historical Society hosted a Cowboy Poetry event at Castle Valley Ranch in Emery. Featured band, Haywire played at the event entertaining those in attendance.
Poets and comedians from all over the county shared their jokes and poems. Some read poetry and played music from other artists, while others presented their own work during the lighthearted event.
Haywire welcomed local artist, Mr. Peacock to the stage who played and sang a few songs. Peacock used to play at high school dances and was remembered by one poetry reader.
The historical society sold books written about the area including the San Rafael Swell. Afterward, the society served homemade peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream.
Each month, the historical society conducts meetings and events. It is only $5 to become a member.
Next month the Emery County Historical Society will celebrate the San Rafael Museum’s 25th birthday.
