An example of an angel created for Suicide Prevention and Awareness Week.
The HOPE Squad of Carbon, Emery and Grand Counties is looking for supporters of a very special project.
This project is wooden angels that are created in honor of loved ones that were lost to suicide. Following their creation, the angels will be used in a visual art installment for Suicide Prevention and Awareness Week, which is Sept. 8-14.
The suggested donation is $5 and once an individual donates, they will take their angel home, decorate it and return it to the Southeastern Utah Health Department or to Amanda McIntosh no later than Wednesday, Sept. 4. The angels will then be on display at Market Express Chevron in Price and at the Emery County Courthouse in Castle Dale for the entire week.
These angels are created to represent the number of family and friends that have been lost to suicide. After the seventh annual HOPE Walk that will take place on Friday, Sept. 13, the angels will be returned. For more information, call the health department at (435) 637-3671 or message the HOPE Squad of Carbon, Emery and Grand Counties on Facebook.
