Creekview Elementary News Release
John Thomas, Principal at Creekview Elementary, will be retiring and hanging up his many “hats and costumes” at the end of this school year.
For the past nine years, Principal Thomas has been fully invested to the students, parents, staff and this great community. He will be greatly missed. Principal Thomas has served in education for the past 33 years in Tooele School District as well as here in Carbon School District.
Creekview will miss his innovative and “out-of-the-box” thinking, which has improved student engagement and their excitement for learning. His calming personality, sense of humor and great leadership abilities will also be missed.
Principal Thomas has been instrumental with Creekview being awarded the Gold STEM School status from the Utah State Office of Education and the STEM Action Center.
It has taken a lot of time and effort to become a designated STEM school not only by Principal Thomas, but by all staff members, students and parents. Our Creekview family is very excited and proud to be a part of the STEM program and the opportunities it offers our students.
We thank Principal Thomas for having the vision and determination to bring STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education to our students as it will truly help prepare them for a bright future as they become better problem solvers and critical thinkers.
Our Creekview family wishes the best for Mr. and Mrs. Thomas as they relocate back to the Tooele area to be closer to extended family. Their influence and wonderful examples will be missed but will continue to be felt here not only at Creekview, but in Price.
Creekview Elementary is excited to welcome Keith Palmer as the new principal in June. Mr. Palmer is currently an amazing and energetic math teacher at Mont Harmon Middle School, where he will be sorely missed by his colleagues and students. We are looking forward to many wonderful years under the direction and leadership of this talented and caring man.
