Emery Town’s annual Pioneer Days celebration brought three days of fun to the small town beginning on Thursday. This year’s theme was “Wind in My Hair.”

The festivities kicked off with softball games on Thursday evening. On Friday, members of the community were invited to a potluck dinner followed by a movie at the rec center. The evening also featured a night run with the mission to “Blow Mason to Boston.” Mason Stewart, son of Slate and Pennie Stewart, will benefit from the proceeds of the run. Mason will be attending a history trip in the near future and funds raised will aid in his endeavor.

The celebration continued on Saturday, beginning with breakfast in the park, with proceeds from the breakfast directly benefiting the fire and EMS departments within the city. Members of the community then made their way to Main Street for the annual parade followed by a kids’ program and games. Dinner, softball games and fireworks capped off the festivities.
