For the third year Castle Heights elementary and Mayor Joe Piccolo teamed up for Family Literacy Night. Attendance has grown and this year it was standing a room only crowd that showed up for the event.

The night opened with a welcome from Principal Jan Cox followed by a musical recorder presentation from the second graders, directed by Steve Lasslo. Mayor Piccolo gave a short talk about the importance of working together.

With dinner provided, the lines to eat snaked out of the gym and down the hall. The Price City Library, the Volunteer Center, Foster Grandparents and other organizations had tables with information available as the crowd swarmed by.

Breakout activities began at 6:00 and included workshops on writing, math, reading and literacy. Not everything was academically oriented. Craft and Movie activities were provided for the kids while the parents went to the various workshops.
