The Emery High School auditorium stage was recently graced with a plethora of beautiful and talented young women as the Miss Emery County competition was hosted on Friday evening.

As per tradition, the gals that were vying for the crown were put through a series of categories, including a question and answer portion, a talent portion, evening wear and more, that allowed the crowd and judges to better learn their characters and personalities.

This year, Ashlun Clark was triumphant in being crowned Miss Emery 2020. Clark’s talent was dancing while her social impact statement was “You’re Perfectly Imperfect,” which focuses on accepting yourself and your flaws. The first attendant was named as Jordynn Wolford, who showcased a Hawaiian dance as her talent and introduced the Lilly Pad Project as her social impact statement.

Following Wolford was Brooklyn Johansen, the new Miss Emery County Outstanding Teen. Johansen displayed her ballet talents and urged all to “Love Your Body.” The first attendant for the Miss Outstanding Teen is Brinlee Hurdsman, who danced her way into the judge’s hearts while also introducing Caring For Kids as her platform, a program that is providing food for hungry children in the community. Hurdsman was also triumphant in being named the ticket sales winner.

Not ending there, Jessamyn Ashby was named Spirit of Emery as well as the collector of most shoes for the annual shoe gathering fundraiser that is traditionally hosted by Miss Utah.

The other talented young women that competed during the Miss Emery County competition were Kaylee Durrant, Megan Hess, TiaLynne Moosman, Brynne Urie and Abby Wilson. The newly crowned royalty will take charge in the coming year, attending events, working toward their platform goals, preparing for the Miss Utah competition and more.
