Amid the various other commencement ceremonies that took place last week, another lesser-known ceremony took place Friday evening as 17 graduates from the Carbon School District Adult Education program received their high school diplomas.
In addition to the graduates, two English Language Learning students were honored as completing their respective programs.
The 17 graduates ranged in age and incoming high school credit and also featured a husband and wife duo as well as two pairs of a mother and daughter.
Three of the graduates, Fred Lundell, Pedro Velasques and Danielle Velasques, spoke about what the program had meant to them.
A special musical number was also offered after which the diplomas were awarded to graduates by Carbon School District Superintendent Steve Carlsen.
Lana Keller, the program director, offered a few remarks at the end as the ceremony came to a close.
