Those at Castleview Hospital strive for overall health and look for many ways to support the medical field in all the endeavors to find new ways for cures, advancements in funding and more.

More than one event is being hosted by the hospital this fall season to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. One such event, the annual Cupcake/Cake Wars, took place in the hospital classroom on Wednesday. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day, all were welcome to come in and peruse, as well as bid on, the cakes and cupcakes made by local talented hands.

This year, a trick-or-treat pumpkin, an owl, a bee, sliders and many other creatively decorated cakes graced the tables in the classroom. The cake raffle was officially hosted at 2 p.m. to inform those that had entered which lucky individuals were able to take home the too-cute-to-eat treats.

A total of $2,000 was raised during this annual event and will be donated to the society.
