During the 2019 40th Annual Women’s Conference hosted at USU Eastern on Friday, Kobi Prettyman of Utah Foster Care announced the local Foster Mother of the Year.
This year, the award went to Dawn Dart of Price. Dart and her spouse became foster parents after attending an information night much like an upcoming event that will take place in May. For a little over two years, Dart and her spouse have been active foster parents.
Prettyman stated that they have helped reunify children with their families and have also adopted through the foster care system. Prettyman continued by commending Dart for her dedication to fostering and sharing the many great things said about her by peers, friends and family.
“Those who work with her describe her as a committed, caring, involved foster mother that is attentive to the children’s individual needs and willing to participate in whatever services that will help the children,” Prettyman said.
Dart was in attendance at the conference and accepted the award presented.
For more information on the foster care system, ways to become a foster parent and more, contact Prettyman at (435) 636-0210 or attend the free information night on May 14 beginning at 6 p.m. There, attendees will hear real experiences from foster families and their children.
