Helper played host to the monthly First Friday extravaganza on Nov. 2. The theme this month was Dia De Los Muertos – Day of the Dead.
Galleries on the city’s Main Street opened around 6 p.m. and welcomed all to come inside and take a look around. People who attended were invited to dress like someone would for Day of the Dead. There was a contest to see who had the best appearance.
Later that evening, people ages 18 and older were invited to the burlesque show presented by VooDoo Productions. Tickets for this performance were $20 each and could be bought at a couple local businesses in Helper. It was hosted in the Rio Theatre on Helper Main at 9 p.m. There was a cash bar and concessions available. The proceeds made from this event will contribute to the city’s annual Christmas celebration.
