James Nielsen of the Emery County Weed and Mosquito Department is retiring after 34 years of dedicated service to the county.

Commissioners Jeff Horrocks, JR Nelson and Ethan Migliori presented Nielsen with a plaque for his service and a Kindle Fire for his retirement. They thanked him for his many years of service to the community.

Nielsen has been an employee for 34 years and has been the only supervisor since the inception of the weed and mosquito department. According to commissioners, he has done a great job for the county and has always been very conscientious of the county funding. Nielsen is very frugal and has done the very best for the county that he could possibly do, said commissioners.
