Carbon County’s Democratic Convention was rescheduled Friday night because of a lack of the presence of a quorum.
Only 41 of the 196 delegates were in attendance. The Democratic Party constitution requires a minimum of two thirds of the delegates to create a quorum.
The meeting was rescheduled for May 12 at 7:30 pm in the Helper Auditorium.
Attendees stayed and listened to guest speakers who traveled to the convention.
Jim Dabakis, running for State Party Chair, spoke on how he wants to bring the value of planning ahead to the party.
Jim Judd, running for Vice Chair, ran for the legislature in 1994. He wants to try and extend the Democratic Party beyond Salt Lake and Carbon Counties.
Paul Pugmire, running for State Chair Secretary, spoke on how he believes that the Democratic Party has one mission and that is summed up in two words: elect Democrats.
Rob Miller, former Vice Chair, spoke about Democrats becoming involved in the use of State deployed funds.
