Department of Agriculture and Food Releases Rule to Shorten Licensing Process for Medical Cannabis Growers

(Salt Lake City) – In order to help expedite the process to ensure medical cannabis product is available as mandated by statute, the Department of Agriculture and Food released a rule effective today that will expedite and shorten the timeline for medical cannabis growers to become licensed. Under this rule, growers will be able to obtain licensure in approximately 60 days.

This rule is effective for 120 days. A permanent proposal of this rule will be open to public comment on May 15 and open to public hearing on June 5.
