Desert Thunder Raceway has announced to cancel their scheduled races for this weekend in support of the Weybright family.

On Monday, June 10, Desert Thunder Raceway Foundation President Shane Weybright was involved in an accident that had him airlifted to Utah Valley Hospital.  The accident left him with a swollen and bruised brain according to his wife, Erin.

As the latest update, Shane remains at the hospital receiving medical care.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help support the family with medical bills and needs for the family.

“Shane’s free spirit uplifts anyone who have been around it; his warm heart comforts any who needs it,” stated the GoFundMe page. “The peace of knowing the medical bills are taken care of will take the added pressure off of the family.”

Desert Thunder Raceway cancelled the races this weekend in the hopes that the Weybright family can focus on recovery.

“Please continue to provide the family as much peace and privacy as possible and know you well-wishes, thoughts and prayers are heard and deeply appreciated,” Desert Thunder Raceway Connection posted on Friday. “We cannot thank you enough for your continued support and understanding.”
