Dinos Compete at State Music Competition, Bring Home 11 Superior Ratings

Several Carbon High musicians participated in the south state solo & ensemble festival that took place on Saturday at Orem High School. The musicians competed with students from across the state and many walked away victorious.

Overall, the school’s vocal jazz brought home a superior rating under the direction of Arthella Williams. Sadie Crompton brought home a superior rating for her flute solo with Vanessa Snow, Britlie Sharp, Jewelianna Nielson and Vivian Baker scoring straight superior ratings for their individual piano solos. Carbon’s music sterling scholar, Andrew Williams, also managed to secure a superior rating for his mallet solo.

Vocal soloists Gabe Van Dyke, Kaden Earl, McKenna Sorenson and Sarah Ohlwiler also brought home superior ratings. Several other vocalists and instrumentalists also participated in the event.
