Layton Christian visited Carbon on Thursday and now probably wishes they hadn’t. The Dinos exploded for 14 runs in the second inning catapulting them to a 21-1 win in just five innings.
Jaren McCourt belted a home run and five other Dinos hit doubles in the win. Dakota Cisneros legged out a triple.
The Dinos (7-3) open up region play tomorrow against Juab in Nephi, UT. The Wasps have won just three games on the season.
The Lady Dinos have lost three-straight games, one of which came on Thursday against Region 12 foe North Sanpete 8-5, and the last a 4-3 loss at American Fork on Friday.
Five Dino errors against North Sanpete doomed Carbon though they outhit the Hawks 10-8. Jordyn Cave lost her second-straight outing and now sits with a 1-3 record on the season.
The Dinos attempted to rebound on Friday with a visit to 5A American Fork, but were sent home after a tough 4-3 loss.
Carbon (4-8) will travel to Nephi, UT tomorrow for a Region 12 tilt against Juab.
