The Carbon Dinos kicked off Region 12 action in Nephi on Tuesday afternoon, taking game one of a doubleheader 7-1 before dropping the second 5-2.
Zac Bradley pitched 4 2/3 innings for the win in game one, giving up just two hits and one run (unearned) while striking out five. Jaxon Leonard threw the final 2 1/3 in relief without allowing a run to score.
Despite managing just three hits in the game, the Dinos made the best out of their at-bats. Ty Anderson knocked in two runs, going 1-3 with a single. Cody Lowe had the other RBI, also adding a single.
Carbon doubled its output at the plate in game two with six hits, which only led to two runs, both scored in the sixth inning. Lowe had two of the six hits. Both Dino runs were unearned.
Lowe also started on the mound, taking the loss after giving up two earned runs (four total) on three hits over four innings of work. Chase Morgan relieved Lowe for the final two innings without allowing an earned run.
Carbon (5-6, 1-1 Region 12) will host Juab in Helper on Friday at 3 p.m.
