Coming off their first loss of the season, the Carbon Dinos looked to get back on track in Grantsville Friday. However, five rushing touchdowns by five Grantsville players proved too much for the Dinos as they fell 41-13.
Jarod Lessar hooked up with Garrett Blanc in the fourth quarter on a 59-yard TD pass for the receiver’s fourth touchdown in five games. Peyton Fausett recovered an errant snap in the end zone on a Grantsville punt in the second quarter to cut the lead to 21-6.
A turnover on downs late in the second and a fumble on its first possession in the third proved costly for Carbon as Grantsville scored 20 points in the final two quarters to run away with the win.
Lessar finished the game 12-18 for 125 yards with a touchdown. Blanc caught six passes for 70 yards. Fausett finished with 45 yards on four receptions. Lessar, Blanc and Fausett combined for 30 tackles on the night.
Carbon (3-2, 0-1 3A North) will host Morgan (3-1, 1-0 3A North) on Friday at 7 p.m.
