Dinos End Season After Play-in Loss to Juan Diego

The Carbon Dinos faced arguably the best team in 3A Wednesday afternoon in a play-in football playoff game against the Juan Diego Soaring Eagles. The Dinos lost the game 66-6.

Down 14-0 early in the second quarter, Dino running back Nate Olson took a handoff from Noah Jones up the middle for 90 yards to paydirt. Olson finished the game with yet another 100 yard performance, rushing for 133 yards on just 12 carries. It was the fourth straight game Olson had gained more than 100 yards in a game. Olson finished the year with 1,115 yards on 193 carries with eight TDs. His 1,115 yards were top in 3A and 14th statewide.

Jones finished the game 5-12 for 53 yards with an interception. Collin Lewis rushed eight times for 21 yards.

The Soaring Eagles scored 52 unanswered points after the touchdown run by Olson in the second quarter.

Carbon finished the season with an 0-10 record, including a 0-5 mark in 3A North action.
