The Carbon Dinos, after dropping their opening round 3A Playoff game against Desert Hills last weekend, won two straight in the one-loss bracket before bowing out after a loss to Juan Diego Thursday night in Orem.
Earlier Thursday, Carbon upended the Stansbury Stallions 4-3 to advance to play against the Soaring Eagle Thursday Night at Utah Valley University. Juan Diego scored five runs in the first and another five runs in the seventh to earn the 14-5 victory. Kameron Gunter had a double and a single in the game. Gavin Robinett and Chase Morgan also had doubles.
The Dinos finish the season winners of 14 games against 12 losses, including a 7-5 mark in Region 12 action.
