The #12 Dinos had a tough matchup in the opening round of the 3A Football State Championships on Friday. Carbon was on the road to face #5 Granstville for the game.
A slow start put the Dinos in a hole they could not climb out of as Grantsville put 25 points on the board in the first to secure the early lead. The Cowboys added seven more in both the second and third quarters to take this one 39-0.
The loss bumps Carbon from the single-elimination tournament. The team finishes the season with a 1-10 record overall and a 0-5 mark in region play. The Dinos’ lone win was against Grand County High in week two of the season.
