The Carbon Dinos, looking for revenge after a 27-7 defeat last season to North Sanpete traveled to Mt. Pleasant Friday night for a matchup with the Hawks. North Sanpete had other plans, handing the Dinos a lopsided 55-15 defeat.
After a quiet 6-0 first quarter, North Sanpete extended its lead to 21-0 when Taylor Rasmussen hooked up with Taylon Abeyta for an 82-yard strike to get on the board. Dallyn Mower converted the two-point conversion to make it 28-8 at the half.
Carbon failed to score in the third before notching another TD on a Mower one-yard run to round out the scoring, his fourth on the season.
Carbon (1-3, 0-0 3A North) will kick off region action on Friday when it makes the trip to Emery County to take on the Spartans (2-2, 0-0 3A North) at 7 p.m. The game can be viewed live on ETV Channel 10 beginning at 6:45.
