For the second time in two days, the Dino Baseball team fell to Spanish Fork dropping its Region 12 record to 0-2.

“We are at the bottom of the region after these two losses and maybe that will set a fire in our team,” said head coach Troy Moynier after his team’s 5-2 loss.

Spanish Fork notched two early runs against starting pitcher Jarod Lessar, but the Dinos came back and tied the game in the second at two apiece. The Dons scored three more runs over the next three innings combined and Spanish Fork pitching held the Carbon offense at bay. The Dinos managed just four hits on the afternoon.

“I don’t like repeating the same thing, but I hate losing to Spanish Fork every time we play them,” Moynier said.

The Dinos will step out of their region schedule next week with two games against 4A teams.

“We have a bye this week and will face some really tough 4A schools. We will be playing Olympus and East and we will need to increase our level of play,” Moynier concluded. <

Carbon (5-4, 0-2 Region 12) will travel to Olympus (1-4, 0-0 Region 7) Wednesday and then host East (2-9, 1-1 Region 6 on Friday.
