The Carbon Dinos lost another tough home contest on Friday night, this time to the Union Cougars, 33-20, to open 3A North play.
Coming out of halftime tied at 13, both teams scored in the third to pull even of each other again before the Cougars scored again late in the quarter for the 27-20 lead heading into the final quarter.
The Cougars added another TD in the final seconds of the game to extend the final score to 33-20.
Collin Lewis, Ashton Larsen and Chance LeCheminant all scored touchdowns in the game. Quarterback Noah Jones threw two TD passes, one each to Larsen and LeCheminant.
Carbon (0-5, 0-1 3A North) now will make the short trip to Castle Dale to take on rival Emery (0-5, 0-1 3A North) in a battle between winless teams. Each desperately needs a region victory. The game will be broadcast live on ETV Channel 10.
