Dinos Make it 6 Straight on the Course

The Dinos traveled to Canyon Hills Golf Course in Nephi on Thursday for their sixth Region 14 match of the season.  After making two trips around the nine-hole course, the Dinos came out victorious to go 6-0 and add eight strokes to their overall lead.

Senior Carson Martines played solidly and earned the title of medalist with a tournament low 76. Nick Olson turned in another steady performance with a score of 79. Brady Gagon had to grind a bit but finished strong with 82, followed by an 87 by Kaden Slavensky. Caden Steele had a good round with an 88 and Brandon Scoville finished with 94.

Carbon combined for a team score of 324 followed by Delta’s effort with 332. Union was close behind at 336 with Providence Hall nearby at 340. Juab trailed with 353, American Leadership Academy had 374 and Maeser Prep finished with 434.

With the last region match of the season coming up on Tuesday, the Dinos carry a 111-stroke lead to Fox Hollow.  The Dinos will play in the Eastern Utah Cup in Roosevelt on Sept. 26 and then will travel to Taylorsville for the State Tournament being held on Oct. 1 and 2 at the Meadow Brook Golf Course.
