The Dinos were in Kamas on Wednesday night to play the South Summit Wildcats. Carbon shot the ball well and converted on 49 percent of its attempts from the floor. The Dinos built a 17-12 lead after the first quarter and increased that lead to 39-27 by halftime. They continued to add to their advantage and went up 55-39 with one period left to play. Then came the Wildcats.

South Summit frantically began to climb out of its 16-point hole. The Wildcats had their best quarter in the fourth and scored 21 points. The Dinos were able to fend off the scare, however, and grab the victory, 63-60.

Carbon’s leading scorer was Brady Gagon with 21 points as Merrick Morgan came after with 16. Kaleb Nelson recorded another double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. The Dinos will need to clean up their game as they turned the ball over 17 times in the contest.

Carbon has an exciting matchup coming up on Friday. The Dinos (4-2) will face Utah’s leading scorer Derek Smith and his Delta Rabbits (3-4) in Price. Smith is averaging 29 points per game. Catch all the action live on ETV Channel 10 and online on etvnews.com.
