Dinos Shoot Lights Out From Three, Win First Two Games of Steve Hodson Classic

The Carbon Dinos hit 20 treys in their first two games of the Steve Hodson Cancer Classic at Canyon View High School in Cedar City on Monday and Tuesday en route to two wins.

First up was 2A Providence Hall on Monday. Twelve Dinos scored in the game with Cole Fossat and Brad Williams leading the way with 11 points apiece. Williams nailed three threes in the game. Gage Daughterty also hit three threes. The team hit a season-high 14 treys in the game.

After falling behind 17-16 after the first, the Dinos outscored the Patriots 46-23 over the second and third quarters to coast to the win.

Next up was Arbor View High School from Las Vegas. Thanks to a big first quarter in which the Dinos outscored the Aggies 20-9, Carbon was able to outlast its counterparts the rest of the way for a 59-54 win. Three players scored in double figures in the game with Williams again leading the way, this time with 14 points. Kasey Moynier and Fossat scored 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Carbon (6-5, 0-0 Region 12) will next host South Sevier (4-5, 0-0 Region 13) on January 6.
