After failing to score in the first game of a doubleheader Tuesday afternoon in Richfield, a game it lost 6-0, Carbon responded in the second game, earning the 9-4 win.
Zac Bradley took the loss in game one, allowing five earned runs on nine hits. Cody Lowe had the only extra-base hit in the game for Carbon, a double. Wyatt Wilson, Chase Morgan and Gavin Robinett had the other hits in the game, all singles.
The Dinos won game two in extra innings, earning the win after plating seven runs in the top of the eighth inning to take the 9-4 win. Richfield scored two more runs in the bottom of the eighth to make it interesting before Chase Morgan recorded the final out of the game for the Dinos.
Cody Lowe went 7 2/3 innings without a strikeout, allowing just two hits in the game without an earned run despite walking a season-high nine batters. He also went 2-5 at the plate with two singles and an RBI. Collin Lewis had two RBIs in the game as well.
Carbon (7-7, 3-2 Region 12) will again take on the Wildcats on Wednesday in Helper, completing the three-game series in Region 12 action.
