Dinos Sweep Blue Mountain Invitational Meet

Carbon and Pinnacle track and field competed in San Juan on Friday at the 2019 Blue Mountain Invitational/ Eastern Utah Championship. Nine teams competed through the events until Carbon proved to be winners of both classifications. The boys’ team took first (187), Uintah second (148) and Grand third (88). The Lady Dinos were also victorious with 211.5 points followed again by Uintah (161.5) and Grand (74). Pinnacle scored 12 points in the boys’ division, good for seventh, and finished in eighth in the girls’ with seven points.

 

Carbon boys’ sprint medley relay 2-2-4-8 took first. The girls’ 4×100 found similar success with a win in its event. Both boys and girls 4×400 finished in second place.

 

Emma Haddock won the 3200 meter as did Lyndee Mower in the 100 meter. Haylee Prescott and Mower finished second and third, respectively, in the 400 meter. Makenna Blanc and Grace Broadbear followed suit, going second and third in the 800 meter. Mower then had a second place finish in the 200 meter while Megan Swasey finished in third in the 100 meter hurdle.

 

Swasey also finished in second in the long jump and Elliott took third. Emma Christensen took second in the high jump as did Jordan Madsen in discus. Marianna Molinar took second in javelin.

 

Jacob and Jewkes won the 400 meter as did Jared Spendlove in the 800 meter. Ryker Childs and Carson Frame went one and two in the 110 meter hurdles. Then, the duo followed each other in the 300 meter hurdles, but finished second and third. James Bryner and Chad Page took second and third, respectively, in the 3200 meter. Frame won the long jump and Jaylon Dennis took second.

 

Landen Hardy reached the podium in the 800 meter for Pinnacle with a third place finish.
