The Dinos began their tennis season with matches against Logan, Herriman, Bear River and Gunnison. It was a trying weekend that included a lot of growth for Carbon as the Dinos have been unable to practice outside this spring. Their matches marked the first time on a court this year.
With that being said, there was a lot of opportunity to improve. “The boys played well,” said head coach Pete Riggs. “Although they struggled to put up wins, they grew so much and had a lot of fun in the process.”
Senior Carson Martines won his match against the top player at Bear River while Nate Cowley and Conner Fausett won their doubles match against a Bear River duo. Fausett also won a singles match against Gunnison. Martines and Bonham Brewer followed suit by emerging victorious in a doubles competition against a Gunnison team.
“Everyone on the team did well,” concluded Riggs.
The Dinos will take the court again at home on Thursday against Uintah.
